The Early Years
Born and raised in Milan, Italy, Mattia Bielli began his dance journey at the tender age of 10, when he enrolled in dance lessons in 2004. Displaying an innate talent and passion for the art, Bielli soon became a force to be reckoned with in the Italian dance scene. His early accomplishments included being crowned National Champion nine times, National Ten Dance Champion, and multiple titles in salsa, bachata, and merengue.
The Italian Dance Company and Academic Success
In 2016, Bielli’s talent was recognized by one of Italy’s biggest dance companies, offering him the opportunity to perform on the country’s most prestigious salsa stages. This was a special year for Bielli, as he also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Food Sciences and entered the highest class of dancing in Italy, known as the “As” or “S” Class.
Representing Italy in international competitions, Bielli showcased his skill at prestigious events such as the German Open Championships, the Milan Trophy, and the Dance Gala of Amsterdam.
A Pivotal Year: Master’s Degree and Moving to the US
2018 marked another significant milestone in Bielli’s life, both professionally and academically. He completed his Master’s degree in Nutrition, specializing in Sport Nutrition and Nutrition for Cancer Treatment. Working at a sports medicine clinic in Varese, Italy, Bielli treated patients and collected data on how proper nutritional plans, combined with specific dance training, could improve wellness, fitness, and body weight in Dancesport Athletes.
Later that year, Bielli embarked on a new journey by moving to the United States. Over the next few years, he won numerous US dance competitions, and in 2021, he became a National Rising Star and 10 Dance finalist in the Professional division. He also participated as a Pro Dancer in the streaming series “Show Your Best Dance.”
World Championships and Recent Success
In 2022, Mattia Bielli took the world stage by storm, placing third in the World Professional Mambo Championships and being crowned the new World Professional Salsa Champion in Puerto Rico.
